as a good set of armor can mean the difference between life and death. It is armor that protects your character against powerful attacks, and the better your armor is, the less of an attack you will feel.
About Armor
Here is where you will record your equipped armor for your character. When buying and equipping armor, you have several pieces that you can equip. Those pieces are Helmet, Cape/Cloak, Body, Hands, and Feet. You can also equip shields in either Right Hand or Left hand instead of a weapon.
- Helmet: This is head armor. This consists of any armor that covers your head.
- Cape/Cloak: This consists of any cloak or cape you would wear.
- Body: This is body armor. This consists of any armor that covers your torso and arms.
- Hands: These are gloves and gauntlets.
- Feet: These are things you wear on your feet.
- Shields: Shields are optional protective devices that you can equip in your off hand to provide extra defense. Shields are equipped in your off hand.
Each piece of equipped armor has fields for recording information about that piece of armor. Those fields are Armor, Physical, Magical, Soak, Weight, Rune Stone, and Other Information.
- Armor: This is where you will record the type or name of the armor. You could try to indicate any enhancements applied here as well, but that isn't as necessary.
- Physical: Physical is the physical protection of your character's armor. It is the defense your armor provides. When you are attacked by a physical attack the damage must be higher than the Physical Armor to hit you. If the attack hits you the full damage goes through Soak then to your Vitality.
- Magical: Magical is the magical protection of your character's armor. It is the magic defense your armor provides. When you are attacked by a magical or energy attack the damage must be higher than the Magical Armor to hit you. If the attack hits you the full damage goes through Soak then to your Vitality.
- Evade: This is your character's ability to evade an attack. If you evade an attack you do not get hit.It is added to your character's Physical Armor or Magical Armor scores to see if you get hit or not. Armor and other conditions can decrease or increase evade. The default Evade check is a hard check, you have to roll 15 or greater on a d20 and can add your Evade trait to what you roll.
- Physical Evade: This is your ability to evade physical hits, be it melee, throw, bow or whatever. As long as the damage is physical this is the evade you will use. Physical Evade is the Evade stat listed with Physical Armor. You will assign trait points to it like any other trait.
- Magical Evade: This is your ability to evade magical attacks, be it spells, breath attacks, energy attacks, or even weather events such as lightening. As long as the damage is magical this is the evade you will use. Magical Evade is the Evade stat listed with Magical Armor. You will assign trait points to it like any other trait.
- Soak: Soak is a percentage of the damage that the armor simply absorbs. Soak shows a protective value for you provided by your armor. If your Soak is 25%, the damage received is reduced by 25%.
- Weight: This shows how much the armor weights. Be careful not to equip more weight than your character's Weight Limit.
- Rune Stone: This is where you can equip your rune stone.
- Other Information: This is where you can list any other information needed for your armor.
Attaching and Removing Rune Stones
You are able to attach or remove your own rune stones when you so desire.
Repairing Armor
The local blacksmith will be glad to repair your character's armor for a cost. The cost is 65% of the item's original cost of the item you wish repaired.
Equipping Armor
Equipping armor is very similar to equipping weapons, you just fill in the information needed. If the armor has any modifications, you need to add their effects to your character's armor, and try to put the modifications in the armor's name some how.
